THE RIVERTONES, “Cape Town’s most loved Reggae band” who were invited by the government of Madagascar to perform at awareness concerts across the island, are a regular feature and firm favourite at festivals, corporate functions, markets, weddings, wine estates, theatre supper venues and restaurants in and around Cape Town. They also perform internationally with their upbeat, skanking, joyful, old school reggae sound and their message of “one love”. Founder member, Roland Nair, who made his stage debut at the age of 12, has performed in 15 countries to capacity crowds of 75,000 with the likes of Bob Marley’s band, The Wailers. Not only did Bob Marley change the face of reggae music, but he also inspired musicians and countless people around the world to embrace a way of life in search of enlightenment and to seek a life of peace and love … his music is a call for social justice to inspire and move people around the globe.
